of us climate partners

Together towards carbon neutrality

The goal of the Tampere region’s climate partnership model is to involve companies and communities in the region in pursuing a carbon-neutral Tampere. The Climate Partnership is, as the name implies, a partnership; it is intended to benefit both parties to the partnership agreement.

Climate partners themselves define their own organisation’s climate action and goals related to climate change mitigation. Partners can focus on what they want, such as energy savings, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness in procurement, waste management or staff involvement.

How do we become a climate partner?

Take the first step

1. Fill in the subscription form

Companies and organizations become climate partners by accepting the goal of a carbon-neutral Tampere by 2030.

Take the second step

2. Find out the current situation

Climate partners find out the most important climate impacts of their own activities and plan and implement impressive climate actions.

Take the third step

3. Choose and implement a climate action

Climate partners choose one of the climate actions they implement each year, which is published and reported on the ilmastokumppanuus.fi website.

Take the fourth step

4. Develop activities

Climate partners are committed to continuously developing their operations to be more responsible in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

Take the fifth step

5. Message to stakeholders

Climate partners communicate their climate actions to their customers / employees / members and other key stakeholders and provide opportunities for responsible operations and lifestyles.

Take the sixth step

6. Advise others and learn for yourself

Climate partners participate in cooperation to achieve goals and spread good practices.

Why become a climate partner?

Companies and organizations that become climate partners in the Tampere region gain visibility on the Climate Partnership website and through Business Tampere. In addition, climate partners receive the latest information on climate issues and come up with a nationally and internationally significant theme, with opportunities to present their own activities at various events. Climate partnership is also a competitive advantage that attracts new customers to explore the services offered by companies.
